Culture & Wildlife Uganda Safari- 8 Days

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe Airport & Transfer to Kampala

We meet our tour guide at Entebbe airport and transfer to Kampala seeing Lake Victoria from the road and getting a first taste of Uganda as you arrive for our culture & wildlife Uganda safari. Check-in at the guesthouse and relax after the flight. If arriving on a Wednesday, Friday or Sunday it is possible to see Ndere troops performance of cultural dances in the evening (not included in quoted price, adds 15 dollar per person).

Day 2: Transfer to Sipi Falls for Falls Walk and meeting with Sebei tribe

Leave Kampala in the early morning and make the journey to Sipi Falls. The target is to arrive in time for lunch at the lodge. Sipi Falls offers stunning scenery and beautiful waterfalls. In the afternoon you go for a guided walk to see three of the water falls close up and experience the local coffee ceremony with the Sebei tribe.

Day 3: Transfer to Moroto through Karamojong wilderness area

We leave the stunning views of Sipi Falls in the morning and start the journey to Moroto during our Culture & wildlife Uganda safari. We continue our journey off the beaten track by going through the tribes, hopping for a market day to visit the tribes. It’s a very very remote area with a scenic reserve, local people, markets in the most un touched area and remote village set up as the highlights.

Day 4: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park & Game-Drive

Leave Moroto after breakfast to transfer to Kidepo Valley national park as we continue our culture & wildlife Uganda safari. Enter the park in a landscape of vast plains and semi-arid savannah framed by jagged mountains and wooded hills, Kidepo is one of the wildest and most spectacular reserves in Africa. The landscape throughout the park is studded with small hills, rocky outcrops and inselbergs from which one can obtain stunning views in all directions enjoy panoramic views of the Narus River Valley and photographic opportunities of wildlife from all corners. During the afternoon game-drive you can see elephants, herds of buffaloes, jackals, Jackson’s hartebeest, klipspringer and possibly lions, leopard and cheetah.

Day 5: Morning Game-Drive and Afternoon Meeting with the Karamojong

Go for a morning game drive to Kanangorok hot spring area crossing the sand river (if there is water in the sand river game-drive in another area). A variety of animals can be seen roaming around including Ostrich. Connec back for lunch. In the afternoon have a cultural experience that will bring you into contact with Karamojong peoples at Karenna and Kapedo. Meet the local elders and have an opportunity to interact with them. They will show you the kraals, the grinding stones and many more interesting items.

Day 6: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

In the morning we drive out of Kidepo Valley National Park possibly spotting some interesting sights as we exit and start the journey to Murchison Falls national park for the next adventure during this Culture & wildlife Uganda safari. This day we transfer through Uganda’s biggest town in the North, Gulu, and continue through the flat scenic landscape with local villages. It’s a long drive so we arrive at the lodge in the afternoon.

Day 7: Game-Drive & Boat-Cruise in Murchison Falls National Park

In the morning we set off for a game-drive in Murchison Falls national park. On the broad savannah you search for Big cats, Elephants, Giraffes, Buffalos, plus more as the checklist of mammals reaches 76. We continue browsing the circuits to the delta point for a cocktail of birds and mammals. In the afternoon you go for the 2pm boat ride on the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls where you get to see the Hippos (You have never seen more hippos yawning, Grooming in there Pods anywhere else than here- Believe me you), Nile Crocodiles, Elephants and a variety of beautiful bird species along the banks. If you are a keen birder this might be your magnet to catch them. After the boat-cruise your guide picks you to head back to the lodge.

Day 8: Transfer to Entebbe via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After breakfast we leave Masindi and head towards Ziwa rhino sanctuary. At the sanctuary they are working to reintroduce rhinos to Uganda and you go for a trek to see these fascinating animals. Depending on time you then have lunch at the sanctuary or along the way. Continue on to Entebbe where your guide drops you off at the airport as we have finished our Uganda culture & wildlife safari. Plan for an evening or night flight or add an extra day to fly the next day.
